I'm still here and waiting...

First off, I am not an expert. I don't have any special knowledge. I can't even quote the bible, but I do know how to look up a reference and read. I haven't even read Revelations to the end, I have the same really bad nightmare every time I try. I don't condemn anyone for their beliefs. (After all even Jesus was considered a false prophet then and to some now.) We are all members of the same race.... human and as such I offer my friendship to all.
   That being said....

   When I saw this....

   I thought of this...

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Mathew 24:36

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Mark 13:32

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."
Acts 1:7

When I hear anyone saying that they know the date the world will end, I remember this...

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
Mathew 7:15

...and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Mathew 24:11-13

   Enough said...

I hope you all have a wonderful week, year and life. Don't let anyone take your happiness and beliefs away from you.

As for the Revelations thing, maybe it's time to try again ...

I would class myself as an agnostic but can totally appreciate your feelings in this matter. When people talk about the end of the world and other such rubbish I don't take it seriously, but when someone is states the bible guarantees it, well that is wrong.

I am a Christian and I do believe in the Rapture and Judgement Day - but no one knows when that will occur. No one except God.

Theres just life said...

Thank you all for your comments. My greatest fear is about the people who believed this with all their hearts. I hope they don't lose their faith and continue on until the real judgement day arrives.

There's Just Life :
I tried to comment on your Orange Car photo post but that darn ITT ad blocked the post a comment box!

As I travel the foggy, lonely rural roads at night delivering rare blood to hospitals, I listened to Camping's radio station as he played the old-fashioned hymns and often had 30 mintues of uninterrupted Bible readings.

And when lightning is flashing, the roads are flooding, and you cannot see past the hood of your car at midnight, hearing the Psalms read for 30 minutes straight is darn comforting!!

I always turned his segments off. He was obviously deluded, and it saddened me. But at 89, folks sometimes become delusional. It's the other folks who didn't bother to read the 24th chapter of Matthew who irritated me.

Thanks for posting my contest on your sidebar so high and for commenting tonight on my Tension post. Roland
