Lady Gaga...

Oprah is now number 2, though she is still number One in pay.

Four Authors also made the list....
James Patterson is no. 37
Danielle Steele is no. 78
Stephen King is no. 79
Have you ever noticed how the only animals Steven King writes about are ones that scare the hell out of you???
Stephanie Meyer is no. 90
Looking over this list of musicians, actors, radio personalties and sports figures, I am really worried. Don't get me wrong I do like a lot of them, but to think that we place that much influent with any human being is alarming.
Human beings are fallible, that is what makes us human. Another thing that is scary is 4 in the top 10 are under the age of 28, one isn't even of legal age yet.
Just think this person is the one who is influencing the youth of today....

I don't know her personally and I have heard some good things. I just think these people have enough to worry about in their life with out the adding the strain Forbes just put on them.
Just think these people are the worlds role models....
Wow... and I thought vampires and demons were scary.
Check out the list for yourself here is the link.

Lady Gaga scares me. Too freaky!
Alex, I know she make Cher and Madonna look tame.
I do wonder how they measure the influence of these figures, if they measure it at all. At least #1 and #2 are proponents of tolerance.
Little typo - it's "Stephen" King.
Oops, Thanks for catching that for me, John. The master of horror would never forgive me.... and neither would Mr. King I'm sure.
Note to self double check spelling on names.
I saw an interview with Lady Gaga and found I really liked her!
I suspect when it says 'world's' most powerful it actually means America's. I mean - I don't think we've even HEARD of Larry the Cable Guy over here so he's not influencing us - unless he's bribing our government or something.
And no-one in the UK takes Hugh Laurie seriously because we remember him as a lot of idiotic characters (King George IV, Bertie Wooster and lots of other upper class twits) long before he was ever called Dr House. And of course we all laugh at his American accent because we know what he really sounds like.
I might be prepared to let Mark Harmon influence me though :)
I don't place much faith in such lists.
Now that is VERY scary! Glad I'm past the "influencing" stage!...:)JP
Makes you worried doesn't it? I thought it was going to be Justin Beiber as he is the most popular 'tweeter' in the world. Glad that a few of my fave writers made it.
Denise<3
Denise, Justin Bieber was Number 3... He is the one who's not legal age yet.
Betty, I too have been pleasantly surprised by her views. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders, I just hope she can keep it.
AJ, The first time I heard an interview with Hugh Laurie I was shocked, he nails the american accent very well. Larry the Cable Guy is a comedian, yes he is funny but powerful???
Yep, I agree on Mark Harmon.
Al, I am with you. Hopefully there is a lot of us who would rather decide for ourselves what we believe. But they do make great blog material.
Home in the Hollow, I am with you. I am glad I have reached the age were I will look at the facts and decide for myself. That includes the political views of family and friends....always a heated subject around us.
