A is for Apple...

Click here and check out everyone else...

Today is April 1st... April Fools day. But more importantly the beginning of the A to Z Challenge.  One post for every letter of the alphabet, everyday except Sundays.  It starts today with A and ends April 30th with Z.  Check out all the other protectionists (over 800) by clicking on the picture above. I decided to start with a fridayflash fiction story ...after all it is Friday, April 1st.

A is for Apple....

“A is for apple...J is for Jacks...Cinnamon toasty, Apple Jacks.”

Ahhh, how I hate that jingle. It has been stuck in my head for weeks now. It just keeps repeating over and over and over and over.

I can't sleep. I can't think. My nerves are so on edge the Doctor had to prescribe Amitriptylin for me. Even that doesn't get rid of it. It just tones it down.

I wish I had been born into an Amish family. They have the right idea. No television, no radio, no outside influences. My life would be so much better now without them.

If I had never seen a television, I would have never seen that commercial. If I had never seen that commercial, I would never have gotten that jingle stuck in my head. If I had never got it stuck in my head, I would not be crazy now.

Most of all I wish that guy had not told me he was the one that wrote it. He seemed like a nice guy.... too bad.

LOL! Great story! I was going to try to incorporate fridayflash into the A to Z, but I didn't. Well done!

Ugh, I hate it when I get something stuck in my head. I try and try to get something else stuck in there but the evil tune keeps coming back.

Hi Grandpa, An apple a day might work, as long as it doesn't get stuck in your head as a jingle.
Hi Laura, You gave me the idea. I don't know if I can continue it but it does make a great start.,
Hi Sherri, Thank you.
Hi Holly, I know it always seems to come back doesn't it.

I hate when things get stuck in my head. For me it is typically a song from the Muppets. No idea why. LOL!

Great start to the challenge. I am a new follower and look forward to reading the rest of your posts. It's going to be a fun month

Kristin how you. Now I've got "It's Not Easy Being Green" in my head. Oh well, I really so love Kermit so I will forgive you and him.

Hi ya. Just to say - I don't have a TV, but I do have a partner who comes up with uber-catchy tunes every single day... grrrr - so I do feel for you, but don't go chucking that telly - it doesn't help!

Hi Laura, We are living in the country where the HD television signal doesn't reach and since we are on a very limited income and can't afford satellite. So we have not had TV for about 2 years now.
Just don't make me give up the internet.

Apple Jacks don't exist in New Zealand, so no annoying song here. But I have heard it when I lived in the states, and now, thanks to this blog, it is stuck in my head. - LOL, loved your post. Thanks for finding me so I could find you.

This may be the first morbidly cute story I've ever read. Good job!

Such is the far-reaching, and sometimes sinister power of advertising.

Some of the ads ARE so annoying they could drive a person to commit murder.

I have *so* been craving Apple Jacks, but I'm waiting for them to go on sale.

Call me crazy...

Love how it starts so innocently and then gets all twisted like that. Good luck on the challenge!
