Another Character development story

Here is another short story for character development. We were asked to develop a character by choosing a method we either haven't used or have used the least.

So here is my story. Let me know what you think.

Ice Cold Killer...

The tall amazonian blond walked in the door, her short red dress drawing an admiring glance to her figure and long legs. Her ice blue eyes searched the dimly lit club until she spotted her prey sitting in the back corner. Quickly scanning area around him she easily spotted his muscle-bound guard dogs in their black suits with conspicuous bulges. A small scornful smile turned up the corners her red lips as she saw Liam and his men checking her out. “This is going to be easier than I thought”

She made her way to the bar and ordered a Margarita on the rocks, she would have preferred straight Tequila, but she need a clear head. These preppy bars always watered down their mixed drinks so she could drink all night if she had to. She turned around on her bar-stool and studied Liam Williams. She knew him by reputation but had never meet him and that's why his bosses hired her. He would never see her coming. His file was in her purse, but she could recall what it said. Dark-haired man in his early 30s, married with 3 kids, mother still living. He goes to visit her at the Sullivan nursing home everyday at 10 in the morning. Spends most nights at the Culture Club on 8th street. Looking at him she could also tell he was a narcissistic middle man with dreams above his station. If he hadn't been here tonight she would have had to catch him at the nursing home tomorrow. He was due to testify before the grand jury at 9am on Friday. The burner phone in her purse lit up to show another urgent text, she had no idea what Liam knew but it sure was making the wrong people nervous. That was the 3rd text she had received since 5 o'clock this evening. “Their going to have a nervous break-down if they don't calm down. They know I always finish what I say I'll do. That's why they pay me the big bucks.” she mumbled to herself.

Through the flashing lights and cigarette smoke she saw Liam and his entourage making their way to the dance floor. She palmed the small atomizer of cyanide solution and made her way to the floor. She danced her way over to Liam, and pretend to stumble. She apologized purposely slurring her words and sprayed him quickly in the face as she pretended to hang on for balance. One of his bodyguards helped her off the floor and back to the bar, to make sure she would be okay. When he headed back to his boss, she collected her purse and headed for the door. As she left, the door was closing behind her, she heard a scream and a yell “Call 911 he's having a heart attack.”

She hailed a cab and climbed in the back. She sent the text: 'DONE' smiled and threw the phone out the window. She leaned back against the seat of the cab humming to herself. The other $50 thousand would be in her account by morning.

2nd Draft of a Starry Night Suprise

Okay here is the 2nd Draft...

What do you think???

Night Sky Surprise

After the last game of the season, John and Amy decided to spend the night stargazing. Even though he was on the team and she was in the cheer group, they much preferred a quite night spent studying the constellations to the loud, mindless parting of their peers.

By the time they reached the hillside, the faint sliver of moon had just set. The night was clear with a darkness so thick you could feel it. A perfect night to watch the stars. John easily swung the backpack with the telescope and blankets off his broad back. After handing Amy the blankets, he turned to set up the telescope. Amy spread the blankets on the ground, her mom's yellow patchwork quilt seemed to glow against the dark grass. This had always been her families favorite spot to stargaze, and ever since she meet John in Astronomy club he had joined her. The temperature was making a quick run through the 40s as it headed for the upper 30s. Amy shivered in John's leather varsity jacket and wrapped it tighter around her body. Pushing her long brown hair back inside her knitted cap she re-wrapped the long scarf her Aunt made her. Grabbing the small insulated backpack she had been carrying, she reached inside and pulled out the big thermos of hot chocolate and two mugs. She had also brought an assortment of snacks for latter. The wonderful smell of chocolate drifted to her nose as the steaming liquid filled the mugs. 'Mmmm, was there anything better than the smell of chocolate on a cold night?' Turning toward John, Amy stopped dead and stared at the horizon.

'What the heck?' She slammed her eyes shut to see if the image would disappear. But when she opened them the pulsing lights were still there. John turned toward Amy and his smile froze when he saw her face. 'Oh man. She's white as a sheet.'

Amy. What's wrong?”

She just pointed toward the horizon, as if afraid to make a sound. John glanced up and his eyes widened in shock. Coming toward them were two lines of pulsating lights in a wide V shape formation. Behind the lights the stars seemed to vanish leaving only a black emptiness. The lights slowly glided across the sky without creating so much as a whisper. As they moved overhead, a rounded boomerang design became visible against the starry sky. It was a some kind of craft that seemed to be almost a mile wide. They continued to watch the giant ship as it glided over the hill and disappeared behind the tall pines at the other end of the field.
Amy looked quickly at John to verify he had seen what she did. “Was that what I think it was?”

John nodded and the both said at the same time,

An alien spaceship!”
A secret Military Plane.”

A WHAT????” turning they stared at each other.

And the Winner is....

Once again we where at our home away from home....the hospital. Since I don't have a wireless tablet or laptop or internet smart phone, I am totally cut off from all my fellow bloggers. Jack keeps saying he wants to get me one, but on a very limited income that is a luxury we can not afford. But we are back now...I hope for quite awhile...so I have written a short story for you to read. I hope you enjoy it. Please let me know how it is and if I could improve on it. Thank you very much for staying with me through out our up and downs.

And the Winner is....

They only thought they had outgrown us. That they had left us behind with all the other superstitions. But we were there; just under the surface the whole time. Love and Hate are the two sides of the coin of life. There can never be one with out the other. But we are working to flip the coin to our side once and for all.

We are the Gods and Goddesses of War.

We have had many names, some well known, some not. Who has not heard the names Ares, Athena, Mars, and Seth, just to name a few. But our names from Babylonian, Assyrian, Mayan, and Aztec times are all but forgotten. The names of Erra, Ashur, Ah Chuy Kak, and Camaxtli are little known in today's world.

We have worked tirelessly through out history trying many ways to come on top. But there was always someone there to remind people of the good side of man.

The God of love has many names himself and many helpers. They are always there thwarting our attempts to rule the world of man.

We can not win the battle face to face. That lesson has been learned well. So how do we win? There has been many a gathering dedicated to this problem until Ictinike came up with the solution...

The way to win was to not have to face of the God of love. And how do we do that? By using the cover of love and protection to our advantage. We use the fact that the one God of love is known by many names to many people.

We make man think he is protecting others from hate and intolerance. Because it may upset and cause anguish to the others; man will then forbid one group of the God of love's helpers from speaking out if another group is present. If no one is allowed to speak of love and acceptance, then the emotions of hate, intolerance, and evil will be able to rule. The coin will flip to our side and bury the other side at last.

Yes, that is the way we will win the battle. We will rule the world and no one will be any the wiser.

What a View...#fridayflash

What a View...

What a view. I can see for miles from up here. I have never really appreciated this view, never really looked at it. I was always too busy to take the time. It's only by accident that I am enjoying it now.

I can see the deep navigation channel from here.  The water changes from the light blue of the shallows to a deep navy. Those small islands look like bright green paint spatters.

Over there you can see the chemical storage tanks. Hey some of them do they do have floating roofs, would you look at that.

In this direction you can see the skyline of downtown. Boy that sure has grown since I first moved here. Just look at all that traffic. I sure am glad I don't have to drive in that.

I always knew there were a lot of ships on these waterways, but I never realized the variety. The big cargo ships, loaded with shipping boxes that look like a child's building blocks. The flat barges with everything from machinery to piles of ore or dirt or what ever that is. Boy would my kids like to climb those hills.

There goes a tour boat. Man they do they keep that thing clean, the sun reflecting off that white can blind you. I can barely make out all the people waving at me. Might as well wave back, Hi.

And of course, all the tug boats are running around trying to heard everything in their way. Kinda like that new blue heeler puppy we got that herds everything with legs no matter what the size.

There's the Coast guard cutters. The authority of the waves. I have a lot of respect for those men and women. They are out there everyday risking their lives and limbs to keep us safe.

Ah, here comes the fire boat. Would you look at those water guns. Man I would love to get my hands on one of those. I could think of a couple of people I would like to soak. Looks like they got a big latter for rescues too.

Yeah the view up here is great. But, since I had 4 cups of coffee this morning I sure hope they hurry and get me untangled from this damn crane.

A is for Apple...

Click here and check out everyone else...

Today is April 1st... April Fools day. But more importantly the beginning of the A to Z Challenge.  One post for every letter of the alphabet, everyday except Sundays.  It starts today with A and ends April 30th with Z.  Check out all the other protectionists (over 800) by clicking on the picture above. I decided to start with a fridayflash fiction story ...after all it is Friday, April 1st.

A is for Apple....

“A is for apple...J is for Jacks...Cinnamon toasty, Apple Jacks.”

Ahhh, how I hate that jingle. It has been stuck in my head for weeks now. It just keeps repeating over and over and over and over.

I can't sleep. I can't think. My nerves are so on edge the Doctor had to prescribe Amitriptylin for me. Even that doesn't get rid of it. It just tones it down.

I wish I had been born into an Amish family. They have the right idea. No television, no radio, no outside influences. My life would be so much better now without them.

If I had never seen a television, I would have never seen that commercial. If I had never seen that commercial, I would never have gotten that jingle stuck in my head. If I had never got it stuck in my head, I would not be crazy now.

Most of all I wish that guy had not told me he was the one that wrote it. He seemed like a nice guy.... too bad.

THE DELUSIONAL DOOM BLOGFEST...

Today is the 15th of March. Also known as the ides of March. If you know your history this is the day Julius Ceasar was killed in the year 44 BC while attending the Roman senate. In honor of this day Hart at Confessions of a Watery Tart is holding THE DELUSIONAL DOOM BLOGFEST
Here is my humble offering. Don't forget to check out the other stories. There are sure to be a lot of great ones.

Hey, put down that knife right now.  The death is suppose to be fictional.  Jeez, you take everything so literal don't you.

   Voice over radio anounces:

The evening news is being brought to you tonight by Wee, Barrie, Um and How. The place to call for all your underground needs.

The top story today is the death of Ambiguous They, his wife Them and son Theirs.  The family's bodies were discovered when firefighters extinguished a blaze at the family's home.
The cause is still under investigation. An unnamed source with the medical examiners office said it appears the family spontaneously combusted while eating dinner.
Arson investigators found the remains of voodoo dolls in a bonfire in the back of the property, but said this couldn't have caused the house fire.
Police detectives have confirmed that there has been thousands of threats on the family's life, and that if the deaths were found to be a homicide it would take sometime to narrow down the list of suspects.
Our reporter contacted Voodoo Priestess Marie Laveau to find out is the presents of voodoo dolls on the property could have a standing on the deaths.  Ms. Laveau giggled and stated that those dolls are her best sellers, but refused to answer any other questions.
Neighbors of the family have said they didn't see anything suspicious last night, but stated it was just a matter of time before something happened.
Ambiguous They runs the company “Their Fault” that set up all the protocols, laws and rules for the world. He also is in charge of whether or not those rules can be bent or broken.  He has been grooming his son Theirs to take over the family business when he retires. The new banking and tax laws were Theirs.  Them is the treasurer for the business. All monies collected goes to Them.

SILENT NIGHT...A #Fridayflash

Yes I know it has been awhile since I posted a #fridayflash, so I figured I better get on the ball.  This is one I have been thinking about for along time.  Hope you enjoy.

SILENT NIGHT...

9 MONTHS!!! 9 DAMN months without a peaceful night's sleep.  Well that ends tonight.  From here on out there will only be Silent nights... No phone calls at through out the night, waking me up.

I can't believe the one time I go to a club in 2 years HE has to be there.

The night started off great.  I got to the club before the dance contest started, and got a good seat at the rail to watch it from.  I got to visit and dance with all my old friends and students.  To top it all off the couple that won was the ones I use to coach.  It would have been a perfect night to remember, if it hadn't been for him.

I ran into him on the way to the Ladies room at the break during contest.  I recognized him as one of the customers from the video store I manage.  He was out with some people from his work.  Just my luck they decided to try out the new club that night.

He was surprised to see me on that side of town.  He was also surprised I could dance, drink something stronger than diet coke and didn't spend all my time working.  There is a lot about me he didn't know and never will.  But he thought he knew me. He thought just because I was polite to him, I was a push over, afraid of my own shadow.  He didn't know shit.

That first night he called my home and asked if I knew who he was, he thought I didn't remember him just because I didn't know his name.  I knew who he was alright.  I never forget a face or a voice.

The only thing I didn't know was how he got my phone number.  I never give out my last name at the store.  Then I found out that Jason told him my name, when he stopped into the store.  It just never occurred to Jason I might not want everyone knowing my name.  We live in a small town and I am the only M. Lane listed.  Thank goodness I don't list my address in the phone book.

He thought he was safe.  It never occurred to him that I knew who he was when he would call at 12:30...2...3...5:30 in the morning.  That damn ringing jarring me out of a dead sleep, night after night.

Then last Friday he comes into the store while I was there to rent some movies.  I guess he figured because of the after Thanksgiving crowd, I wouldn't notice him.   Wrong again.  I saw him when he came through the door.  There isn't much I don't notice.

He was so careful not to look at me, and to stand in the check out line the furthest away from mine.  But as busy as we were I kept an eye on him.  The minute he walked out the door I ran a copy of his rental receipt.   Gotcha!!!

I wish I could have seen his face when he called at 4:30 in the morning and said “Do you know how I am...”  I said “ Of course I do...By the way how did you like the movies 'Disturbia' and 'Nuts' “  Perfect choices for that creep.

For once he was speechless.  What no obscene words, no in depth description of body parts .... just blissed silence as he hung up quickly on me.  But he was too late.

YOU HEAR THAT YOU CREEP.  TOO LATE.  9 MONTHS too late Mr. Stephen Crumb of 1239 Hawthorn Street.  Tonight I have one last surprise for you.

You know it is amazing what you can learn from the movies....

Siiilent night, unhoooly night,   Alllll is calm....

Night of the Hunter's Moon (#Fridayflash, Monster Mash)...

Welcome to a combination #fridayflash and Roh Morgon's Monster Mash blogfest post.  This is the first time I have entered a blogfest.  But I have a soft spot for monsters, especially this time of year. I mean what is October without Dracula, Frankenstein and pals.  That is like Christmas without Santa and his elves.  And I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

Night of the Hunter's Moon....

The light from the Hunter's Moon bathed the old Victorian house on the dead end road at the edge of town. All the rooms downstairs were lit by the flickering of gas lights and candles.  Through the windows the women inside could be seen hurrying around getting ready for the  party.

“Now remember when Vlad get here, DON'T mention anything to do with Hollywood this year.” Broom-Hilda said as she arranged the hors d'oeuvres .
The young ghost setting the table asked. “Why ever not?”
“Oh, that's right. You weren't around at last years party.” Frank's wife said as she gave her hair a quick glance in the mirror. “Well, someone mentioned that horrid new Underworld movie and Vlad went into a rage. He went on about how Hollywood never gets anything right.  Everyone KNOWS that he, Vladamir Dracul, was the first and most powerful vampire.”
Broom-Hilda took up the story, “He raged on and on how the monsters today.... Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, and that one in the hockey mask ... Jason Voorhees where just glorified Zombies made up by men with computers. They would never stand a chance back in Transylvania. How this younger generation has no respect or manners. They don't even wait to be invited into a house.”

“Broomy,” Ilona interrupted, “You are talking with your wand again. You have spilled half the snails and toad hoppers on the floor.”
“Oh brother. Get back here.” Broom-Hilda quickly waved her wand at the hors d'oeuvres headed to the open door.
“Well I think a lively discussion helps make an interesting party.” ghost said, as she floated back to admire her handiwork.

Mo'r, the older of the two banshees overheard her comment and called through the kitchen doorway, “Lively...you are new. Vlad is anything but Lively. He flew into such a rage, we had to nail him into his coffin. He was determined to fly to California and turn the City of Angels into the City of the Dead. Though with some of those people, I don't think anyone would know
the difference. I can't find any more type O blood.”
Broomy yelled back, “It's in the cellar next to the eye of newt. ”

There was a howl at the door and Lupa hurried in. “Sorry I'm late I had to send Wolfy a howl-mail to come through the western woods. The townspeople are watching the roads.” She gave Broom-Hilda a quick hug, “Missed you at bridge.”
Broomy returned the hug and explained, “I had to attend the Fairy Tale Villain's dinner. I swear if I had heard Fe Fi Foo Fum just one more time I was going to turn that blasted giant into a beanstalk and chop him down myself. I can't believe I fell for those smooth talking Brothers Grim.”

Countess Bathory came in and place the new decanter of blood in the bar. “Broomy there is the most horrible racket coming from the brambles in the back. It sounds like Ramses.”
Broom-Hilda turned to her sister, “Helga, you did remember to turn off the no trespassing spell didn't you?”

Helga's eyes flew open wide and she sprinted for the door yelling, “Hold on Ramses...I'm coming.”
The Countess laughed, “I take it that is a no. You better send someone out with a robe. You know how bad he got tangled up last time.”
Honora the youngest banshee grabbed up a robe threw an “I'll do it”, over her shoulder as she headed through the door, running so fast her white hair streamed behind her like a wild mustang at full gallop.
The other ladies laughed and turned their attention back to the decorated room to admire their handiwork. “Well, I guess that's it.” Lupa said as she picked up the chair Honora in her haste had knocked over.

Glancing out the window she announced, “Here come the men.”
Broom-Hilda led the others to the hall and threw open the door to Frankenstein, The Wolf man, and Count Dracula. “Welcome, Welcome. Come right on in the party is ready to start.”
Vlad handed Broom-Hilda his cloak and informed her the invisible man and Mr. Hyde were on the road behind them. He then kissed his brides hello and followed the others into the dinning room.

Mr. Hyde hurried up the walk talking to the air beside him. He handed over his cloak and hat, and headed toward the others.
Before the Invisible Man crossed the hall, Broom-Hilda stopped him and held up two wristbands, “Griffin. Please be so good as to wear these. The ladies want to see where your hands are.” She quickly hung up the cloaks and followed him.

As she entered she announced to the room, “Everyone, Please, have a drink. Don't worry about anything. We have plenty of coffins and beds for everyone. ...Ah, the band has started to play in the courtyard. Feel free to grab a partner and dance. We hired the “Crypt Kicker Five.”
Lupa grabbed the Wolf man, “Come on Wolfy, let's let the fur fly!” She dragged him to the courtyard behind Frank and his wife. Griffin was dancing with Mo'r, his wristbands glowing in the moonlight.

Ramses, in the borrowed robe, led Honora to the floor, much to her delight. Dracula was dancing with all three of his wives. Mr. Hyde threw an arm around Broom-Hilda and pulled her onto the floor. The party was off to a smashing success.
At a break in the music Boris and Igor burst into courtyard, “Sorry we're late but we just came from seeing that new Saw movie and...” Boris's voice faded off as Dracula's eyes started to glow red.

Frankenstein shook his head and said, “I'll get the nails.. .”

Exploring new worlds...#fridayflash

Welcome to my 3rd fiction story at #fridayflash.  Okay, forgive me for the counting but I'm still new and can't believe I am actually posting stories that I wrote.  It is still a scary thing for me.  But it is getting easier every time.  I would like to thank all of you are reading and commenting on my stories.  I really appreciate all of your help and encouragement.  Without further ado...

Update 09022010- Planet Inter findings;

This is a brief report on our findings on Planet Inter.  After spending 6 months in the targeted excavation areas.  We have been able to uncover written records and materials from the planet's population's first few thousand years.  But only a few scattered written records after that period.
While there is an indication that the people on this planet survived for an additional 2 to 3 thousand years, there do not seem to be any type of recorded records of these last centuries. This has caused us to speculate that some vast calamity must have occurred around 02020 their time.  Dr. Redos has speculated that some vast communal disease must have occurred to the population of the planet.  He is not sure if the disease affected the neurological or muscular systems of the populous.  What is certain is it caused the populous as a whole to decline to the point of effecting  the abilities to record a written message.  Dr. Redos stated while it is possible that they might have been able to communicate by the use of a signal system,  the finer motor skills were no longer functional.
The target areas seem to be where the population was brought together to try to contain the contamination.  Some of these camps seem to have held millions of inhabitants.  We have found bits of plastic, metal and glass objects in every habitat in these camps.  This fact  has lead us to believe the devices may have  used for a type of treatment or try to sustain the life of the victims.
Since no written records have been found for this time period in these locations, we can not find a cause for the contamination, or what treatments where being tried.
The teams are taking extreme precautions in the effort to make sure no contamination is picked up from these sites.
We are planning to send search teams out to the countryside surrounding these camps starting tomorrow.
They sound be reporting back to us within the month.  Updates will be sent and the information comes available.

Update 09022011 – Planet Inter findings;

The search teams have returned from their first excursion to the countryside.  They were able to find additional  information regarding what may have happened to the planet's population.
The teams brought back written records that post date the last ones found in the camps.  Our researchers are currently analyzing them and will be forwarding their report to you soon.
Ms. Appeal, the head of the search teams said they found the records in remote quadrants of the countryside.  Perhaps these people were nomads trying to hide from the plague that griped the camps.  The wittings refer to these areas being free on the contamination located in the camps.
We hope to froward a report from the researchers soon.

Commander S. Vaio
Planet Inter Discover Team

Update 09022012- Planet Inter findings:

The researchers been able to interpret some of the records found by Ms. Appeal's teams.
We have learned that apparently the camps were know as cities.  Quite a few of the writings make note of the inhabitants being glad they did not have to live in the cities.  This seems to support the theories that these people were avoiding the contamination of the cities.
The writings make note of the possibility that there were a group of viruses that made up contamination in the camps or cities.  The records make reference of not have the viruses that they called HDTV and DSL in these areas.  These viruses were apparently spread by the means of something called the internet.   The records also speculated on how long it would be before these areas would contain the viruses as well.
Dr. Redos has yet to find out whether the viruses were neurological or muscular.  But the records indicate the viruses could cause a 'hard drive failure that caused a catastrophic lose of information'.  That would seem to point to more of a neurological condition, but it is not conclusive.  He is hopping to uncover additional information from further excavations.

Dr. Mac has included in this report the requested image of the devices found in the habitats of the cities.

Commander S. Vaio
Planet Inter Discover Team

We found these devices in all sizes.  Some small enough to be hand-held  for traveling.

I died once...

  Welcome to my second #fridayflash.

I died once... #fridayflash

I died once.  I was just a few months old.  My mother and I were staying at her parents home, when I became sick.  I stopped breathing and turned blue.  They say I swallowed my tongue.  Though I don't know how I could have done that.  My eyes rolled up into my head and I went limp.
My grandfather was an ex-marine and he took charge.  He swept me up into his arms and carried me outside away from the women.  No one knows exactly what he did.  But he brought me back to this world.
When we came back in.  I was soaking wet and screaming at the top of my lungs.  My mother and grandmother said it was the sweetest sound they had ever heard.
When asked what happened all my grandfather would say is he pulled my tongue out of my throat and threw a bucket of cold water on me to shock my system.  I don't know if he told them everything.  He always tried to protect us from the ugly parts of this world.
They say when you die and come back, you bring something of the other side back with you.  I couldn't tell you if that were true.  I was too young to know what was normal and what was not.  It was all normal for me.
As I grew I started to realize I could tell when things were going to happen, like when it was going to rain.  I would smell and feel the rain coming, even on  a bright sunny day.  My friends and I would be playing when I would announce we need to head back to the house before it started to rain.  They would laugh and point out there was not a cloud in the sky.  It is coming within the hour, I would say.  And it did.  The weatherman was right 60 percent of the time, I was right 100 percent.  I didn't know why I could feel the rain on a clear day or not feel it on a cloudy day.  I just could.
I also had knack of getting along with all kinds of animals.  Even the dangerous dog that was tied up by the shortcut home.  No one could get near him.  I could.  I would look him in the eyes and talk to him.  He would listen.  I would pet him and tell him to let my friends pass.  He would lick my hand and step out of the way.  Some people have said it was because I showed no fear that he allowed me near.  Maybe so, or maybe he understood me.  You would have to ask him.
He wasn't the only one.  A friend and I went to one of her friend's house.  She had a cat who would not go near anyone by her owner, not even the girl she had lived with for the first 8 weeks of her life.  While we were all sitting at the table, the cat creeped into the room,  jumped up in my lap, licked my hand and went to sleep.  The owner was amazed.  Dogs in a frenzy would stop and listen to me, when they would ignore their owners.  Animals in the woods would come close and sit by me.  I don't know why, they just would.
As I grew older I noticed other things.  I could tell when someone was upset by their voice over the phone.  But I have been told others can do this too.  That it is because of the tension in the voice.  Maybe it is.
After a while I didn't need to hear them to know if something was wrong.  All I had to do was think of them.  I knew what someone was doing and thinking.  I didn't even know myself how I did this.  It would just pop into my head when I thought about them.  I would call them and find out they were thinking about me.
I could tell the sex of the unborn child of a friend.  I was more accurate than a sonogram, but only with people I knew.  I could not walk up to a stranger and feel the child's sex.  At least not yet.
I never knew this was unusual.  I thought everyone could do these things if they tried.   To me this came naturally.  Maybe it was because my great grandfather was one of the most powerful Medicine Men of all the Cherokee tribes.

But I didn't know this.  You knew, but you never let on.  You didn't want me to feel different from everyone else.  But I was different.

Yes I died once, but I came back.

Email to Mom...#Fridayflash

Okay everyone I am biting my nails and suffering a panic attach but here it is the first time I am participating in a #fridayflash.  I wrote this a while back.  I just had to get the courage to show it to the great writers out there in blog land. Be kind, but please let me know how I did.  I can't get better if I don't know how.

Email to Mom -- #Fridayflash

Dear Momma,
Sorry I have not written I have been busy in the garden. I'm sorry I did not get the flowers planted in your garden in time this year.  I did however get the vegetables in and they are doing great.  It wont be long till we will have to pull out the canning recipes.  I can't wait to try Great Aunt Jean's tomato recipe.  It sounds delicious.
This is great.  I still have a hard time believing I'm talking with you.  To think my little brother helped make the programing that makes this happen.  He told me they are really close to perfecting the voice over internet too.  I can't wait till I can hear everyone's voice again.
Oh yes, he said to tell Mr. Bell thank you for the suggestion.  It was just what they needed.  It allowed them to get over the plateau they had reached.  He also told me to tell you they already have some researchers working on sending images as well as voice.  Wouldn't that be great, then I could see you as we talk.
Let Mr. Jefferson know I was able to get a hold of his family in Virginia.  They said their computer has been down but it should be fixed by the end of the week and they would contact him then.
I have so missed you, but I know you are catching up with all the family and friends there.  Tell all my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents I said hello.  I miss you all and can't wait to see you.  Don't worry I am going to do as you asked and stay here until I'm called.
Well I've got to go for now I'll talk to you soon

Love always,
Your daughter

PS:  We were able to find that old fashion yellow rose that you wanted.  We all went out this weekend and planted it at your grave.  Hope you like it.
