Today letter is M. So I am doing one on memories, no not about what I remember happening. That would either be too long or blank depending on how much coffee I've had. No today's post is about songs that bring back memories for me.
To start with there is this one....
Yes, I will admit it I was a big fan of
The Monkees
. I wouldn't miss a single epesode on TV, and I had all their records...45s and LPs. Besides how could I not include them, their are 3 Ms....Monkees...Micky...Mike (sorry Davy and Peter).
Yes, I had this one!
How about this group....
This song by
The Mommas and The Pappas
just seem to fit this time of year. I know a lot of you up North are probably California Dreamin' right now.
This last one remindes me of High School. We had a jukebox in the cafeteria and this song played at least once everyday at lunch.
So that's what
The Rolling Stones
looked like...I had forgotten. How about you can you pick out Keith Richards in this video, without no fair looking to see what instrument they are playing.
These guys have had a lot of history and made a lot of memories for all of us.
Now I'm afraid to look in the mirror and see how much I have changed. I think I will stick with my memories of what I looked like.
It's amazing how every one of these songs brought back a memory as I played it - I reckon you could help heal an amnesiac just by playing the right song. Fab post

ReplyDeleteL is for Lies: Flash Fiction
I wish I could say "Who? I'm too young to remember these." Hah!
ReplyDeleteI only watched all the Monkees episodes because my younger sister had the TV on. Honest!
ReplyDeleteNice little musical meander sown memory lane.
The Monkeys! I had one of their LPs and played it over and over again. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :-)
ReplyDeleteMy memories don't go back that far, but I'll stick with my current appearance. I looked dorky as a kid!
ReplyDeleteYes Music brings back a lot of memories. But I think Alex just called all of us who remember these songs old???
ReplyDeleteI well that's what happens when you live life.
I do agree with him on one thing, I was dorky looking in school too.
Stephanie I couldn't blame it on my sister, she is 9 years younger. I could try blaming it on my brothers, but they are a lot bigger than I am. So I will just own up to it. IT WAS ME.
I really enjoyed sharing your songs and I shall probably spend the rest of the afternoon recalling my own songs/memories!
ReplyDeleteGlad to have met you through A to Z.
Ellie Garratt

ReplyDeleteGood choices Pam! My favourite is California Dreamin - always love hearing it and often find myself humming it on both beautiful, and not so beautiful days!
ReplyDeleteHave to say one more thing. The Monkees and the Rolling Stones all look like such babies to me now. Dear oh dear! :)
